Mutlu Sümer is the founder of the firm. He was previously Professor at the Technical University of Denmark.
Mutlu Sumer has more than 40 year experience in Coastal, Offshore, Hydraulic, River, and Marine Civil Engineering. He is one of the leading engineers / scientists in the world in seabed-structure interaction including scour / scour protection in connection with wind farms, marine structures and pipelines; liquefaction of marine soils and its implication for marine structures; forces on and vibrations of marine structures including marine pipelines; and river engineering and sediment transport.
He has published over 200 scientific papers, and three books, (1) Hydrodynamics Around Cylindrical Structures, 1997, revised edition, 2006 (with J. Fredsøe); (2) The Mechanics of Scour in the Marine Environment, 2002 (with J. Fredsøe); and (3) Liquefaction Around Marine Structures, 2014.
He has coordinated many international research programs.
Mutlu Sumer has received many awards including 2005 Karl Emil Hilgard Hydraulic Prize of the American Society of Civil Engineering, and 1991 Science Award of TUBITAK.
He has done consultancy work in projects in many countries including Algeria, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brazil, Cyprus, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Indonesia, Libya, Norway, Pakistan, South Korea, Turkey, and United Kingdom.
