Professor Sumer has, as part of his advisory role, has visited the College of Harbour, Coastal and Offshore Engineering, Hohai University, Nanjing, China. This has been a follow up visit of his previous one on April 13-16, 2025, and has been funded by NSFC (Natural Science Funding of China) (2022-2026), and Foreign Talent Introduction Project from the Foreign Experts Bureau of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China where Professor Titi Sui of Hohai University and Professor Sumer collaborate. On this occasion, Professor Sumer delivered a lecture entitled “Filter criteria and laboratory measurements of pressure around a monopile in scour protection” under the 2nd of a series of Webinars of IAHR Working Group on Scour Research.
